On the November 17th, 2019, Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport held its opening event and announced its operation. Nearly 1,200 tourists boarded the Costa Cruises "New Romance" docked at the main berth of the port, starting the maiden voyage from Nansha in Guangzhou to the Yaeyama Islands in Japan.

At present, the Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport has opened 9 routes to Hong Kong, Japan, Vietnam, the Philippines and other places, and a total of 12 cruise destinations (including Hong Kong, Japan, Naha, Okinawa, Miyakojima, Yaeyama Islands, (Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Da Nang, Halong Bay, Vietnam, Manila, Philippines, Boracay, Subic Bay). The Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Homeport is ranked in the forefront of the country in terms of number of routes,. It is the domestic cruise port with the most Southeast Asian routes, and it offers more diversed cruise products which differentiatesfrom other ports in the Eastern China and Northern China.
